What’s a Guild
How to Find a Guild and Why
A Basket Guild is simply a group of people who meet and do basket related stuff. It’s a great way to share ideas and learn new things.
Most guilds meet either weekly or monthly, at a community location or homes of members. They organize workshops and programs for their members to learn new techniques. It’s also a great place for show and tell and typically snacks are brought.
The AMB recognizes two types of guilds, chartered and non-chartered.
- A chartered guild is one that has at least 10 people who are members of the AMB. They are expected to do some basket related community service. Chartered guilds are allowed to submit an honorarium once a year to help pay for outside workshops.
- A non-chartered guild is a group that meets, but does not have 10 members that belong to the AMB. They cannot submit honorariums.
